Objectives
The
objectives of the 2007 Tanzania HIV/AIDS and Malaria
Indicator Survey (THIS) are to collect data on knowledge
and behaviour regarding HIV/AIDS and malaria and to
measure HIV prevalence among women and men age 15-49
and the presence of malaria parasites and anaemia
among children aged 6-59 months (see box for key survey
indicators). Most survey indicators will be produced
separately for each of Tanzania's 26 regions. A related
objective is to produce survey results in a timely
manner and ensure that the data are disseminated to
a wide audience of potential users in government and
non-governmental organisations within and outside
Tanzania.
