The Annual Headline Inflation Rate for the three selected East African Community (EAC) Member States of Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda have shown similar pattern since January, 2015 with Kenya having the highest Inflation rates, followed by Tanzania and Uganda. Annual Headline Inflation Rate for May, 2015 in the three selected EAC Member States have shown a slightly different pattern where it has increased in Tanzania and Uganda and has slightly gone down in Kenya.
Annual Headline Inflation Rate for the month of May, 2015 in Tanzania has increased to 5.3% from to 4.5% recorded in April, 2015 and has also increased to 4.90% in May, 2015 from 3.60% in April, 2015 in Uganda. On the other hand, Annual Headline Inflation Rate in Kenya has slightly decreased to 6.87% in May, 2015 from 7.08% recorded in April, 2015.
