Training for Field Work

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) conducts trainings for supervisors and enumerators before any data collection exercise to make sure that, data collected from the field meets the expected standards. Main objective of these trainings is to make sure that everybody involved in the survey understands his or her responsibilities to enhance efficiency and data quality. Field staffs are also taught on how to ask questions, recording answers and general administration of the questionnaire.

Depending on the type of the survey and changing technology, supervisors/enumerators are also trained on use of tools like tablets, Personal Data Assistants (PDAs) and scales for data collection.

Trainings for supervisors/enumerators are conducted with specific prepared training manuals to ensure uniformity at all data centers. Manuals are also used as reference materials during data collection.
