This is the first year of the third Strategic Plan for the period 2008/09 to 2010/11. It is also the first Business Plan to execute the designed National Statistical development Strategies in the country, namely, Tanzania Statistical Master Plan (TSMP).
The implementation strategies are designed to meet each of the stated objectives by each Directorate. NBS management strategies include the need to develop and implement better work planning and reporting systems, improve the transparency and accountability of internal decision making, to build capacity within Regional Offices with the aim to decentralize statistical functions to the regions and improve the publicity and marketing of statistical products and services.
Monitoring and evaluation has been designed based on the Open Performance Review and Appraisal System (OPRAS) to ensure that progress is monitored and deviations rectified accordingly.
