The Census for Statistical Business Register (SBR) involves the recording and collection of information on economic and social activities operating in a fixed premises within the borders of the country. The census is usually carried out in accordance with international guidelines for the recording of economic and social activities (International Standard Industrial Classification of all Economic Activities- Revision 4). The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania conducted census for Statistical Business Register successfully and produced a joint report that includes information on economic and social activities in Mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar for the year 2023/2024. The main purpose for census of SBR is to obtain list of operating establishments that will be used as a sampling frame for social economic activities.
