Economic statistics provide insights on the performance of the economy. The main source of economic statistics is administrative data. Other sources include censuses, surveys and recently big data has emerged to be a source with massive information. Economic statistics are presented in a series of historical data which is also used for foretelling about the future. Statistics compiled and disseminated by the National Bureau of Statistics under economic statistics include national accounts, industry and construction, agriculture, external trade, transport, tourism, and migration.
